MFT Creative Chat ~ May

Hi there!!  Welcome to the May Creative Chat from My Favorite Things!  This month we are showing you our Ink Pad Storage!  I happen to love my ink pad storage and I am eager to see how the other girls store their ink pads!  I always get a new idea when I read the other posts!

Head on over to the MFT blog for a link to each participating designer.

I happen to have alot of ink pads.  I started off with most of the Stampin' Up ink pads and over the years have slowly added to my collection.  I have quite a few of the ColorBox Fluid Chalk inks, a handful of Memento ink pads (Memento Tuxedo Black is my go-to for use with Copic Markers) and some of the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads.  I mainly use the distress ink for sponging, not stamping.  I don't use my ink pads like I used to since discovering the world of Copic Markers, but I do use them for sentiments and the occasional solid stamp.  Even though I don't use them often, I don't think I'd ever be able to part with them!

I store my ColorBox Fluid Chalk, Memento and Tim Holtz Distress ink in this storage unit from Organize More. (I don't see this exact unit on their Etsy site)  I LOVE this unit.  It sits directly in front of where I sit at my desk so all the pads are within easy reach.  I have two Memento Tuxedo Black ink pads on the bottom right.  One is new and one is old.  I usually reach for the older one first, but if I can't get a good image, I use the newer one.  I really like the feel of the old one, but it is OLD :)

The frame that sits on top of the ink pad unit was given to me by my youngest for Mother's Day. She made it at school and it reads:  "MOM Awesome Loving Amazing Kind Goodhearted"  Love that girl.

Just another shot with some of the ink pads out so you can see them :)

I store my Stampin' Up pads and all of my refills in the Stampin' Up' ink tower.  I've had this for probably five years.  It sits behind me and to the right so if I turn to the right in my chair, they are easy to reach.

I have all the ink pads organized by color family, as in blues, greens, pinks/reds, etc.  Makes the colors easier to find.

Well, I hope you've enjoyed my ink pad storage!  Not too exciting, but organized!

Oh, before you go, don't forget to leave a comment on my blog candy giveaway here!  I'll be doing the random drawing this Friday!

Have a great day!

Pure Innocence Fun in the Sun VIP Collection!

Hi there!  Long time no post!  I've been super busy with end of the school year assemblies, choir concerts, cheer tryouts and choir tryouts so stamping has taken a back seat!  The end of the year always sneaks up on me and I'm always surprised by it!  You'd think with a 13 and 11 year old it would be old hat by now!

But tonight I'm back with this month's ADORABLE Fun in the Sun VIP Collection from My Favorite Things!

Head on over to the MFT Blog for a link to each designer!

Here are some details about tonight's VIP Collection:

Pure Innocence Hula Girl stamp set
Pure Innocence Sprinkler Girl stamp set
Fun in the Sun Sentiments mini (VIP exclusive stamp set - will never be offered for sale or be available again $9 value, FREE)
Hibiscus Die-namics
Notched Border Die-namics

The VIP Collection is a LIMITED QUANTITY product that gives you the opportunity to purchase upcoming stamp sets and new Die-namics two weeks early!  The mini set included in the VIP kit for free is EXCLUSIVE to the VIP kit and will never be available again for purchase!

I made a card using each of the stamp sets!  I couldn't resist!

For the first card I used Hula Girl.  The Die-namics I used are the gorgeous new Hibiscus, Simply Scallops Small, Rectangle STAX set 1 and First Place Award Ribbon for the sentiment.  The papers are from the Simple Stories Fabulous 6x6 pad.

The finished inside:

The next card uses Sprinkler Girl.  Her bathing suit was paper pieced.  The Die-namics I used on this card are Mini Tab Foursome, Rectangle STAX set 1 and Upsy Daisy.  The papers are from the Jillibean Soup Southern Chicken Dumpling 6x6 pad.

The finished inside inspired by my friend and fellow MFT designer, Karen Giron.  I love how she finishes the insides of her cards!

May Creative Challenge from MFT ~ Wreaths

Hi there!  It's May Creative Challenge time for My Favorite Things and I can't wait for you to see my project.  But first, here are some specifics about this month's challenge:

"Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme, product or technique. This month, we're creating wreaths. Be sure to check the MFT Blog for a list of all the designers who have put their MFT stamps and/or Die-namics dies to work to create a wreath for you today!"

Okay, so this was truly a CHALLENGE for me as I rarely stray from cardmaking or scrapbooking when faced with creative time.  However, once I got started on my wreath I had a blast, thanks to my Die-namics dies!  And my wreath will go oh so perfectly in my "hopefully sometime soon" bedroom/craft area makeover!

I started with a 10 inch foam wreath, wrapped it with some burlap strips (actually, this was the hardest part for me) and then got to work cutting, rolling and hot glueing all my flowers to the wreath.

The Die-namics I used on my wreath are Botanical Beauty, Large Royal Rose, Mini Royal Roses, Royal Leaves, Leafy Flourish and Large Leafy Flourish.  All the patterned papers are Authentique Loyal.

Birthday Wishes!

Hi there and welcome to the Verve Diva Inspiration Hop for May!  We're here to get your month kicked off with a bit of Verve inspiration!

If you've arrived here from Betty's Blog then you're in the right place.  If you've just happened along, head on over to the Verve Blog to start the hop from the beginning!  Don't forget to leave comments along the way for a chance to win some Verve of your very own!

Great Friend is one of my all time favorite Verve sets and I was so happy to see Verve come out with Joyful Blooms.  The same beautiful flowers as Great Friend, only smaller!  My flowers were cut out and popped up for dimension.  Each was finished with some linen thread and a button.  The sentiment was added to a flag that was cut using the Ribbon Banner die. The leaves are from Bloom and Grow and were stamped in Versamark ink and cut out with the Elegant Leaves die.  Some rounded corners and machine stitching finish the card.

Your next stop on this hop is to the wildly talented Jen del Muro's Blog!

And while we are at it, how about we make your life even easier with a "cheat sheet" of all that's new?  Head over to the MFT Blog to print out a shopping list.

For my card tonight I used fabulous new Vertical Greetings II Die-namics and Stamp Set.  The other Die-namics I used are the new Mini Royal Roses, the new Mini Scallop Edge, Leafy Flourish, Royal Leaves and the Fishtail Flags STAX.  I just LOVE how versatile the Die-namics dies are!  Seriously, what did we do before dies?  LOL!  All of the papers are Authentique Loyal 6x6.

Here's a peek at the inside.  I masked the same sentiment that is on the front so I could just stamp the word amazing.
