Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day One!

Hi there and welcome to day one of the Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks!!  TE turns two this week and we've got some fantastic sets to peek this week so you won't want to miss a thing!  On the menu today are three new sets, Make a Wish, Borderlicious and Big Bubbles Background, coordinating balloon and border dies and the new Make A Wish Project Pantry Kit!

Everything you see today will be available for purchase on Friday morning, September 3rd, at 8:00 am PST in the Taylored Expressions store

My peek uses the newest charitable set from the Taylored Expressions Giving Tree Program, Make A Wish.  This set was designed by the UBER talented Nancy McKinney for the Whimsical Wishes Line.
For the months of September, October and November when you purchase this set TE will donate $7.00 to a national children's charity that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Make A Wish is THE perfect birthday set, IMO!  Just wait until you see it in it's entirety!  I combined my card with this week's sketch from Mercy, MTSC89.   The cardstock (except Kraft cardstock), patterned paper and Farmer's Market Twine is from the Make A Wish Project Pantry Kit.  The balloons were stamped and then cut out with the coordinating BALLOON DIES!   I added some Taylor's Tiny Twinkles to the balloons and the banner at the bottom.  The sentiment is actually one continuous stamp, I just merely cut each word out by hand and layered it on a coordinating piece of cardstock.  Each of the balloons is popped up on foam tape.  It's so dimensional in person!  Some machine stitching finishes it off.

Don't forget to see what the rest of the Baker's Dozen has cooked up for today!

Thanks for stopping by!

TE Blast From The Past Blog Hop!

Hi there!!  It's another month and time for the Taylored Expressions Blog Hop From the Past!!  I love these blog hops because it's a great time to see all of Taylor's customers give some older TE sets some much deserved LOVE!!  I know you've got a lot of hoppin' to do, so I'll get right to my card!

My girls just started back to school a little over a week ago and I'm in the school mood, so what better sets to use then Make The Grade and Extra Credit?  I am the "Sunshine Mom" at my youngest's elementary school, so that means I am responsible for giving each teacher a birthday card from the PTA on their birthday.  I love to use teacher or school themed sets when making their cards and this set is perfect for that!

I used the Blog Hop From the Past sketch designed by our own Sankari Wegman.  I paired that sketch with some scraps of October Afternoon dp from the Thrift Shop and Report Card lines.  I used some Farmer's Market Chocolate Twine and an EK Success Round Binding Edge Punch for the punched edge.  The buttons are from my stash.  A little machine stitching finishes it off!

Hi there!  It's Tuesday and it's time for another one of Mercy's sketches!!  I combined this week's sketch with one more card for the TCP blog hop, just under the wire....WHEW!!

I used my new TCP set And Baby Makes...  This is such an adorable set!  I paired it with some October Afternoon Ducks in a Row, which I think is perfect for a baby card, don't you think?  I also used the button flower and button dies from TCP!  They are so fun and cut like buttah!  A little Cotton Candy Divine Twine and machine stitching finishes it off!

Don't forget to see what the other Muses cooked up for this sketch!

I used some more of my denim jeans on this card....LOVE LOVE LOVE this color combo!

Verve Release Time!

Hi there!  I just wanted to pop in and show you one last sample I made with the newly released stamps from Verve!  This card was made using the new, beautiful set called Kind Words.  I paired it with the Anni-VERVE-sary sketch A {AVS2010A}.  I stamped the flowers in Yellow Citrus chalk ink and Old Olive. The sentiment was stamped in Not Quite Navy.  The image was then cut out with Circle Nestabilities.  Some ribbon, buttons, rounded corners and machine stitching finish it off.  I love long cards.....need to do this size more often!
All the stamps you've seen peeked by me and the other Divas this week are now available for purchase in the Verve store.  Julee also has a fantastic Anni-Verve-sary Collection bundle that is a steal!!  You can click here for all of the details!

Verve Final Peek Day!

Hi there!  It's the final day of sneak peeks for Verve and you are going to LOVE the set we are peeking today!  It's called Great Friend and is the MOST STUNNING floral set!!  Julee always designs the most beautiful flowers and the flowers in this set are no exception!

All of the sets you've seen this week will be available after the Verve Release Party.  Be there or be square.....8:00 pm EST in the Verve Forum on SCS!

Now let's get to the reason you're here!

I started with Anni-VERVE-sary sketch 2010B, but strayed a bit by adding the flowers in the corner!  But the sketch is there!  LOL!  I paper pieced three of the flowers with some delish Cosmo Cricket Togetherness DP.  See how they nestle perfectly together?  Ahhh....makes this girl happy!  The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut out with Curved Rectangle Nestabilities and while it was still in the die I sponged some Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress inks around the edge.  Some rounded corners with my beloved Corner Chomper, some machine stitching and I called it done!

Now it's time to hop!  Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win!

So let's get to it, shall we?

I combined A Happy Hello with another new set that was peeked yesterday, Dream Big.  Don't you {heart} that sentiment?  I could go on and on about this release, it's so amazing!!  The sentiment and the frame surrounding it are from A Happy Hello.  The flower and stem is from Dream Big.  I used an Anni-VERVE-sary sketch for the card and paired it with some October Afternoon DP scraps.  I believe these are all from OA Fly a Kite.  Some machine stitching, buttons and Divine Twine and I called it done!  Just a fun, happy card!

A Little Late {MTSC87}

Hi there!!  I'm here today, a little late, with Mercy's AWESOME Tuesday sketch!  I apologize for the tardiness.....My girls started school yesterday and it was a little emotionally draining for me.....you see, my oldest started middle school and for some reason I had a REALLY hard time with it!  I didn't cry when either of my girls started kindergarten, but her starting middle school just did me in!!  I had a good cry and then worried about her all day long!  LOL!  Good news is she absolutely LOVED it, so I'm back to my old self again today!

In honor of the start of school and having my uninterupted stamping time back I thought it fitting to break out my Make the Grade set from Taylored Expressions and make a school themed card!  I hadn't yet inked up the cute little school house so I did exactly that!  I paired it with a mish mash of October Afternoon scraps and I LOVE how it turned out!

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the Muses cooked up with this sketch!

Verve Preview ~ Birthday Bash

It's another day of fabulous Verve sneak peeks and today we are sneaking two new sets ~ Birthday Bash and Seize the Cupcake!  I have a sample today using Birthday Bash!

Birthday Bash is a set of 13 stamps all geared toward the obvious....BIRTHDAYS!  It has eight sentiments done in a wonderful fun font with five different birthday themed images to coordinate!  LOVE THIS SET!

Let's get to the sample!

We celebrated my youngest daughter's 9th birthday last week and this is the card I gave her!  She flipped when she saw it!  I wanted the look of a balloon bouquet and wanted my new Divine Twine to be the balloon strings, so I masked the large balloon and stamped it on five different patterns from the October Afternoon Fly a Kite collection.  Each balloon was popped up on foam tape and each has a differnt color Divine Twine string.  The sentiment was masked so that "Birthday" was stamped alone as was each letter so I could make a banner!  The banner die is from My Favorite Things and is one of my new fave tools!  A little machine stitching, buttons,  some more Divine Twine and I called it done!

Now on to the hop!  Don't forget to leave comments for a chance to win!

TE August Key Ingredients Challenge!

If you've come here for my Verve Sneak Peek Post then just scroll down or click here.  Thank you!!

Hi there!  It's that time of month again.....time for the Taylored Expressions August Key Ingredients Challenge!  If you're already a Key Ingredients subscriber, then you may already have your kit and isn't it FABULOUS?  I ADORE the Echo Park papers in this kit!

This month's challenge keywords are "Fancy Flight"! Being outdoors is such a
big part of every summer whether it be trips to the beach or playing in
the park! So when you sit down to create with your August Key
Ingredients, take a look into the sky and incorporate some fancy flight
into your creation... dragonflies, butterflies, kites, clouds, and
more!

I combined my KI Kit with my favorite TE set to date:  Garden Party Blooms.  I cannot get enough of the flowers in this set!  The sketch is this week's Mojo Monday sketch #151.  The cardstock, Echo Park A Walk in the Park patterned paper, ribbon and butterflies are from the August Key Ingredients Kit!  I love how these kits make it SO EASY to put a card together.  Everything is beautifully coordinated so there is really no thinking required!!  LOL!  I also used the new Taylored Dies for my flower stem!  These particular dies are made to coordinate with Garden Party Blooms.  I used the stem from the Garden Party 2 set.   Oh my gosh, if you haven't tried these yet, you MUST!  The dies are made of steel and are American made.  They cut like BUTTAH!!

There are many reasons to subscribe to the Key Ingredients kits, but a couple of my favorite reasons are the fact that you get a fantastic ON TREND papercrafting kit that has been coordinated just for you, a wonderful 10% discount with FREE shipping if you order between the 10th &13th of each month to be shipped with your KI Kit, plus all of the inspiration from the Baker's Dozen in the Key Ingredients Gallery

Need some more info on the Key Ingredients benefits?  Click here for more information!

You Are Amazing!!

Verve kicked off a week of AnniVERVEsary sneak peeks yesterday with a gorgeous new set called Love Story and today we're showing you some peeks of two new sets, Framed Wishes and Fabulous You
We've changed our format a little bit this month, and we've got 6 little mini hops planned for you between now and the release. Tune in each day as the Verve team shows you what they've been doing with our 8 new sets! We've hidden a prize on one of the participating blogs each day (the full link list is at the bottom of this post), so leave a little comment love as you hop around to be entered into a drawing to win that day's featured stamps! Deadline for comment entries is 6PM Eastern Friday, August 20. Winners will be announced at our Anni-VERVE-sary Bash Release Party that night.

So let's get to the peek, shall we?

I combined my peek of Fabulous You with a set released last month, Blue Skies.  The sentiment, the tiny flourishes above and below the sentiment and the flourishes on the front of the envelope are from Fabulous You.  This set contains eight sentiments in a gorgeous font, two different sized flourishes and one gorgeous frame for a total of 11 stamps.  And if you're a Verve fan then you know that the sentiments are just perfect!!

I drew inspiration from this GORGEOUS card by our own Guest Designer this month, Sony Christoph.  I just loved how she made her own envelope for this darling notebook paper and decided to try it myself!!   The DP, ribbon, button and twine are all from Papertrey Ink.  The Rustic Cream panel behind the main image was embossed with the Seeing Spots embossing folder.    Some scallops, lace ribbon, adhesive gems and machine stitching finish it off!

Here is a list of each Diva that is particpating in today's sneak peeks:

Hi there!  It's Tuesday and it's time for another sketch from the fabulous Mercy!!  I LOVE this week's sketch!!  I combined it with TCPTues121 to use the Cut Ups dies from The Cat's Pajamas!  I used my new Ship Happens set from TCP!  Aren't those penguins adorable?  I also used some of my fave Divine Twine in Lemon (looks like it's currently sold out) and paired it with the new Cut Ups Buttons and Wave dies.  The dp is October Afternoon Fly a Kite.

Taylored Expressions Release Day!

Hi there!!!  It's finally release day at Taylored Expressions!!  Woohoo!!   I have one more sample to show you using the adorable new set, Tweet Hearts!!

There are two stamps in the Tweet Hearts set that when combined make a bird bath, but I also thought they would make a a cute little mushroom.....so I went with it!  It's not very often that I get creative with my stamps, I use stamps as they were intended to be used, but occasionally my mind plays tricks on me!  LOL!

I stamped the mushroom caps and stems in three different colors, cut them out and adhered them together.  I then made some "grassy hills" with some Echo Park Summertime DP (from the Summertime Project Pantry Kit) and added some maching stitching to make each layer stand out a bit.  The cloud dp is also from the Echo Park Summertime line but it came from my LSS.  The sun is from Garden Party Blooms.  The sentiment is from Tweet Hearts and was punched out with a circle punch.  The sun needed a little something after I adhered the sentiment so I went a little crazy with the adhesive rhinestones, but I LOVE the way it looks!!  I also added some Taylor's Tiny Twinkles to the mushrooms and little bird to continue the sparkle!  A little machine stitching and ribbon finish it off!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks ~ Day 2!

Hi there!  It's day two of the Taylored Expressions sneak peeks and today we have the CUTEST set to show you!  The set is called Tweet Hearts and was designed by the brilliant Nancy McKinney for the Whimsical Wishes line!  This set will be available for purchase tomorrow (Friday) morning at 8:00 am PST in the Taylored Expressions Store!

I told you it was cute!!  LOL!  I paired Tweet Hearts with a sketch by Jen del Muro.  The DP is October Afternoon Fly a Kite.  I stamped the branch from the set in Dark Chocolate ink and using my Stamp-a-ma-jig, stamped both of the birds.  I stamped the birds a second time, cut them out and popped them up for some dimension.  The main image was cut out with Classic Oval Nestabilities.  The buttons are from my stash.  I tied the top button with some Chocolate Farmers Market Twine.  A little machine stitching and some ribbon finish off the card!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day One!

Hi there!  It's day one of the Taylored Expressions Sneak peeks!  It's an exciting month at TE as Taylor is releasing something brand new.....Taylored Dies!!  Today the Baker's Dozen will be showcasing a new set from the Whimsical Wishes Line called Take Note along with it's coordinating dies!  This set was concepted by Jami Sibley and was illustrated by our own Nancy McKinney!!  This is a long post, so let's get to it!!

I made a cute grocery list for my project today!!  I'm notorious for making a grocery list, setting it aside and then forgetting where I put it or just forgetting it all together!  My hubby was thrilled when I showed him this project...he just hopes it gets put to good use!  It will!  LOL!

I used the Take Note Frame 1 along with it's coordinating stamp from the Take Note set.  Did I mention there are THREE frame dies that coordinate with THREE different frame stamps?  Heaven.....and these dies cut like butter!!  But I digress....
I stamped the frame in Dark Chocolate ink and cut it out perfectly with the Take Note Die in my Cuttlebug using the same sandwich as I would for my Nestabilities dies or other metal dies.  I used some October Afternoon Farm Fresh DP that I thought worked perfectly with my Grocery List theme.  I stitched around the dp with my sewing machine.  I felt the list needed something else and while searching through my Taylored Expressions stamps I remembered the vegetables from last month's new set, Weigh To Go!  I used the carrot and the broccoli!  Isnt' it cute?  I finished off with some buttons from my stash and some Farmer's Market Twine in Chocolate.

I also finished off the inside by adding some of the same DP to make a pocket to hold my coupons!!  I bought these notepads at Papertrey several months ago.  The measure 2 1/2" x 8".  To make the folder for the notepad I cut a 6 1/4" by 8 1/4" piece of Dark Chocolate cardstock, scoring at 3" and 3 1/4" on the 6 1/4" side.

This next card shows how you can use the die without the coordinating stamps!!  I love to have different shaped dies in my arsenal and this one is SO PRETTY!  Love the soft scallop shape!  I paired it this time with my favorite Garden Party Blooms set.  The DP and ribbon are from the Summertime Project Pantry kit.  The sentiment is from the TE Extra Credit set.  I sponged all of the Kraft with Tea Dye distress ink and finished it off with some adhesive pearls.

I hope I've inspired you with my projects today!  Now it's time to take a peek at what the rest of the girls did with today's set!

Hopping By {MTSC85}

Hi there!!  It's Tuesday and it's time for another one of Mercy's sketches!  This was a FUN sketch to play with!  So many possibilities!!  I didn't go with a long card because I really wanted to use Birthday Flopsey from MFT and the image was too tall, so I went with a standard A2 card.  I used the same DP as my AnniVERVEsary Blog Hop card because I love the combo and it was sitting on my desk!!  I combined this sketch with the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club challenge called Ruffles...Ruffles...and more Ruffles!  Hence, the ruffly ribbon on my card!

Don't forget to check out the rest of Mercy's Muses!  They rock it every week!!

AnniVERVEsary Blog Hop!!

Hi there and welcome to the AnniVERVEsary Blog Hop!  Verve turns three years old today and we're celebrating with a hop hop hop! If you arrived here from Tami's blog then you're in the right place!  If you've just happened along then head on over to Julee's blog (owner of Verve) to start from the beginning and to find out how YOU can win a prize just for hopping along!!  After all, what's a party without presents?  If there's a hiccup along the way then you can head on over to the Master Hop List to get the full list of links!

So let's get to it!!

I used the new set, Always on My Mind.  I just love the sentiments and the fonts in this set!  I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI Vintage Cream, cut it out with a 1 3/4" circle punch and layered it on a Kraft Scallop Circle Nestie.  I  also sponged the edges with some distress ink in Tea Dye.  The sketch started out as Mojo 145, but I ended up veering away from it just a bit!  The star was cut from Kraft with the Star Nestabilities and then run through my Cuttlebug with the Seeing Spots embossing folder.  A button and twine bow finish it off.  The DP is October Afternoon Thrift Shop and Farm Fresh  (can't get enough of October Afternoon!).  I added some machine stitching, a rounded corner with the AWESOME Corner Chomper (I feel it is my duty to get every stamper to own a Corner Chomper! LOL!), adhesive pearls and some ruffled ribbon to finish it off!  When I was done I realized I hadn't used the darling little dangling star included with the set and just couldn't make it work!!

If you're interested in winning this set, Always On My Mind, that I've featured on my card, just leave a comment on this post by August 4th at 11:59 pm for a chance to win!!

Your next stop on this hop is the WILDLY TALENTED Tosh!!!

Have fun and thanks for stopping by!!
