MFTeasers: Day Two!

Hi there and welcome to day two of teasers from My Favorite Things!  Today we're introducing Inspired By Flowers 3.  It's a beautiful set!

Because I Care:

I started by stamping the floral image in Memento Tuxedo Black onto some patterned paper.  The flower was colored with Copic Markers.  I love how the text shows through.  A rounded corner with the Corner Chomper and some machine stitching finish the main panel.  The sentiment was cut out using the ribbon tail die from the Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon set.  I used the scalloped button die from the Die-namics Button Quartet for the button.  It was tied with some thick twine that I got from Stampin' Up ages ago.

MFT Design Team Creative Chat!

MFT has come up with a new monthly feature and we think it's something you'll really enjoy. The My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Chat is a new monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative spaces and share valuable organizational methods, tools, and shopping strategies with you. You'll be able to peek into our creative spaces, ask questions, and share your own ideas in the MFT forum.  This month, we were asked the following questions:

~How do you store and organize your Die-namics?
~Any fun or helpful Die-namics purchasing strategies you'd like to share?
~How do you store extra Die-namics die-cuts?

My stamping space is anything but organized........except for my dies!  I can honestly say that I have a die storage system in place that works for me!

I store my Die-namics in these binder boxes that I purchased at Taylored Expressions.  I currently have two binder boxes full of die-namics (SWOON) plus a basket that houses all of my Doily Dies, the Pinwheel die and any of the larger Die-namics that take up too much room in the binder box.

You get a better idea of how these boxes look in this picture.  The fronts were decorated with some black and pink cardstock.  I printed the text on the pink cardstock using my printer.  The flower is from Inspired By Flowers #2 by MFT.

  Each box is clearly marked with the particular Die-namics dies it holds.  This box houses all of my flower and embellishment type die-namics such as Rolled Rose, Fancy Flourish, Butterfly Trio, Rainbow, Cloud Trio, etc.....

The panel inserts were also purchased along with the binder boxes at Taylored Expressions.  Each die is held in place with a couple strips of adhesive magnet that I cut to fit each panel.  I purchased the adhesive magnet  at Michael's.  It comes as a roll and you just cut each strip to size. The magnets can be purchased as sheets also, but I felt the roll of magnet was a bit easier on my wallet!

Here is the basket I referred to earlier in the post.  This sits within easy reach of my binder boxes.  I originally had the larger Die-namics dies in my binders, but they took up too much room, so I opted for this instead.  Works for me!

Here's a quick picture of my small die-cutting station!  The Driscoll's box (which will be altered at some point) houses my Cuttlebug cutting plates.  I usually make die-cuts as I need them, so I don't really have any sort of storage system for left over die-cuts.  When I do decide to use something other than what I cut, say I decide I want a different color, then I store the die-cuts in a little plastic box that sits in the Driscoll's box on my shelf!  Most of the time it's empty!

When I purcahse my Die-namics dies, I like to purchase a die that is coordinated to work with a stamped image that I own or am buying, that way I am guaranteed to use it!  If a die comes in different sizes, such as the doily dies, then I purchase them a little at a time so it's not too hard on my budget.  That way I end up with everything I want!

Well, that's all from me today!  I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at my Die-namics storage system!!

Belated Happy Birthday {TCPTues173}

Hi there!  August is a pretty busy month for birthdays in our family!  My Father-in-law reluctantly celebrates on the 5th, my youngest celebrates on the 11th, we have several cousins with August birthdays and the two who wrap it up are my hubby and myself.  I turned 44, yes 44, yesterday and my hubby turned 51 (hard to beleive) the day before that!  With school just starting and me trying to organize my now free time, I never sat down to make Frank a birthday card.  He reminded me that I was a card maker and that he was expecting a birthday card.  Well.......I started it the day before his birthday and just now finished it today!  LOL!  He won't mind!  In fact, I think he'll appreciate that I sat down to make HIM something!

Anywho,  I used his card to make my card for this week's TCP Tuesday Challenge.  Tori is our resident COLOR Hostess with the Mostess and she gave us some fun fallish colors to work with this week:

I chose to use Bear Hugs for his card.  The bear was colored with Copics, cut out and popped up on foam tape.  The sentiment is from Simply Said.  The Cut Ups I used are Big Scallop, Pennants, Sunflower Rosette (the large heart) and Home Tweet Home (the small orange heart).  Some Divine Twine, Adhesive Gems and machine stitching finish the card!

Did you know you could win Cat's Cash from The Cat's Pajamas just for playing along?  You can find all of the details here!

Sending Well Wishes {MFTWSC34}

It's Wednesday and it's time for another Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge from My Favorite Things!  I probably sound like a broken record, but we have another fabulous sketch for you this week!  I'm all over tilted panels....LOVE them!

If you're a regular reader of my blog, then you've probably read that I'm the Sunshine Mom at my daughter's elementary school.  The Sunshine Mom is responsible for providing cards to the school staff for birthdays, new babies, condolence, etc.  This is my 4th and last year doing this job and I love it.  I was asked the other day to make a card for a 4th grader who hasn't yet been able to start school because she underwent a major unexpected surgery early last week.  She came through the surgery fine and is now home and resting.  This card will be a little pick me up to let her know that people at school care!

I used Pure Innocence Better Get Better and paired her with MME Lost and Found Market Street papers.  She was colored with Copics and was fussy cut out and popped up for dimension.  The sentiment was cut out with the the Bracket Tab Die (L.O.V.E.)  I added some of my fave rounded corners, some machine stitching and a button tied with some Divine Twine.

A picture of the inside.....

We'd love to have you play along!  To see a list of participating designers for today's sketch just head on over to Kim's Blog!   Then head on over to the MFT forum at SCS and upload your sketch card using the keyword MFTWSC34. You could be the winner of a $15 voucher to spend at the store! ($20 if you use MFT stamps).

Forgot About Dare To Get Dirty!!!

Hi there!  I have a card to share with you today that I made for this summer's Dare To Get Dirty Challenges.  It was one of the samples for the fabulous Joanne Basile's challenge.  I realized last night that I completely forgot to post it on my blog!

I used the adorable Pure Innocence Rose paired with some beautiful Authentique Uncommon papers.  The Die-namics dies I used are the Rolled Rose and Little Open Scallop.  She was colored with Copic Markers.   I ruffled the twill ribbon and finished the card with some machine stitching and rounded corners.

Well, that's all from me today!  Thank you for stopping by!

My Head's In the Clouds Over You {TCPTues172}

Hi there!  Long time no post!  So sorry!  I wasn't feeling too hot for much of last week thanks to my allergies.    Whatever was bothering me seems to have gone away and I'm feeling much better......but not feeling too hot = no mojo, therefore, no stamping!

Anywho.....I'm here with a card for last week's TCP Tuesday challenge from The Cat's Pajamas.  Julie is our Hostess with the Mostess and her challenge was to use felt on our card!   LOVE felt so this was not only fun but EASY!  Thanks, Jules!!

I pulled out Take Off, obviously one of my most favorite sets from TCP, and got to work.  I paired this darling flying bunny with some MME Six By Six Away We Go papers.  The felt clouds were cut using the awesome Cut Ups Cloud Border Die.  A little machine stitching and some Glossy Accents on his goggles finish the card.  The sketch is a Deconstructed Sketch #2, I believe, although I changed the circle element by putting it in a different place!

We'd love to have you play along with the TCP Tuesday Challenge!  You can find all the details for this challenge on Alma's Blog!
