Happy Birthday Bags and Tags {SSSC185}

Hi there everyone!  Long time no see :)  It's Sunday and time for the newest Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  I went a little off the beaten path today and used the sketch for some tags instead of a card.

It's been a couple weeks since I've last stamped and it felt so good to get inky!  You see I recently (like 5 months ago) went back to work and have been having a hard time managing my work/home/stampy time. I'm finally starting to feel settled and hope to work in more stamping time soon!

My youngest daughter had a birthday party to go to tonight for two of her friends, so instead of making two cards I decided to make two decorative tags for the gift bags that she could sign on the back.

You'll find a link to all of the products I used at the bottom of this post.

Here are the two tags before I added them to the bag. I am so not a purple person, but I LOVE it here!  I used a bunch of my favorite MFT goodies for these tags!

Here they are on the gift bags.  I REALLY didn't want to use the pink tissue because it didn't really match the pink tag, but my daughter insisted I had to use the pink tissue.  She didn't care that they didn't really match :)

MFT May Release Rewind!

Hi there!  It's time for the new monthly installment of Release Rewind from My Favorite Things!  Head on over to the MFT Blog for a link to each designer.

I didn't get a lot of stampy time during the May Release, so for my Release Rewind project, I couldn't wait to ink up the new Distressed Background Blocks from the Mona Pendleton Designs line.  As I *may* have mentioned in previous posts, I am trying to get away from using so much patterned paper and have turned to my background stamps to create my own paper.  Distressed Background Blocks will definitely be a "go-to" for me from here on out :)

OH, and before I show you my project, I used Kraft, Orange Fizz and White AGAIN.  I can't help it, it's such a beautiful combo in my eyes!  Haha!

My project is a card with a matching Mini Pizza Box.  Along with Distressed Background Blocks, I used Journal It - Graph Paper Notes, my favorite Western Backgrounds, a sentiment from Peaceful Wildflowers, and Blueprints 3 Die-namics.

I stamped the flowers from Blueprints 3 Die-namics in Orange Fizz ink with one of the stamps from Distressed Background Blocks. I shabbied the flower up a bit with Kraft ink and finished each flower with a Kraft button tied with Hemp Cord. The sentiment on the card was stamped on a circle from Blueprints 1 Die-namics and on a Traditional Tags STAX on the pizza box.  You can find the Mini Pizza Box tutorial HERE.

Happy Mother's Day {SSSC184}

Hi there!  It's time once again, for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch!  We have a GREAT sketch for you this week, so I hope you get a chance to play along!

With Mother's Day today, I had to use this sketch to make a card for my Mom. I used the new Peaceful Wildflowers from My Favorite Things, along with the coordinating Wildflower Die-namics.  The backgrounds were made with MFT's Western Backgrounds and Spring Backgrounds.  The Circle STAX was left in the die and sponged with some Kraft ink.  The scallops at the bottom were made with MFT's Dotted Scallop Border Trio Die-namics.

Here is the finished inside.  The sentiment the set Sweet Roses.
