MFT August Teasers - Day 2!

Hi there and welcome to the second day of teasers from My Favorite Things! We've got some beautiful sets to tease today! Make sure you head on over to the MFT Blog to check out all of today's details and to find out how you can win big just for commenting!

I went mixed media today in honor of the new set from Mona Pendleton called Timeless. I've also used the new Collage Backgrounds, Time Pieces Die-namics, Pierced Circle STAX Die-namics, Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose Die-namics, Mini Royal Roses Die-namics, Fishtail Flags STAX, Blueprints 6 Die-namics, and the Graduated Hexagons Stencil.

Here's the card in all its mixed media glory! I used all kinds of fun stuff here. I rubbed (sounds funny) the gears, the background layer, the flowers, and the overlay on the beautiful clock with this cool stuff called Inka Gold Metallic Rub and a soft cloth. I then went over most of those same items with some liquid gesso. The base layer was looking like it needed something so I used some modeling paste and the Graduated Hexagons stencil and went to town. It made all the difference in how the card looked. I used to be afraid of mixed media. I didn't really "get it", but it is really fun to get messy, because you really can't make a mistake. If you do, you just paint over it. LOL.

It's Time for August Teasers from My Favorite Things!

Hi there! It's my favorite time of the month - My Favorite Things August Teasers! We have a full week of new stamps and Die-namics to share with you. You won't want to miss a thing. Don't forget to check out the MFT Blog for full set and Die-namics reveals, and how you can win big just for commenting.

I have three cards to share with you today so let's get started!

My first two cards use the gorgeous new Splendid Sunflower stamp set and Sunflower Die-namics from Lisa Johnson Designs. The striped background was made with another new MUST HAVE set, Plaid Builder Background. I'm a stripe girl, so I used just one of the stamps and made stripes. The sentiments are from our newest Free with $60 set, Sending Thanks. See the rounded corners on the the striped layer and the green scallop border? Those were cut from our new Blueprints 6 Die-namics.

Here's the first card. Isn't that sunflower gorgeous?

Here is the second card. The sunflower makes such a great focal point.

Up next is the adorable Pure Innocence Pretty Pumpkin. I used our new Blueprints 6 Die-namics and one of the digital sketches provided for the card. I've also used the Plaid Builder Background :) You will be seeing this new set a lot.

Here's the finished inside.

My second card is clean and simple. With limited stamping time anymore, I find myself leaning toward clean and simple cards and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It was tough at first, but it gets easier with each card.

For this card I've used Seasonal Sentiments, Western Backgrounds, Spring Backgrounds, Blueprints 5, and Jumbo Christmas Stocking (holly).
