Have a Beary Christmas {MTSC102}

Hi there!!  It's Tueday and it's time for another one of Mercy's sketches!!  This week's sketch is another fabulous sketch!  Last week I received an order from The Cat's Pajamas.  I ordered some new stamps and  Cut Ups dies from their winter release and couldn't wait to ink up this bear from the appropriately named set, Big Bear!

I went rebel and tilted the main panel a bit.  It was screaming out to be tilted!  LOL!  The patterned papers are Echo Park Wintertime and I've paired them with Cherry Cobbler and White cardstock.  The gorgeous snowflake was cut out of felt using the new Cut Ups Snowflake die.  The button and twine are from my stash!

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the girls did with today's sketch!

I used a new set from MFT, Candy Cane Kisses a la modes.  I also made this for the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club challenge, My Favorite Things.  I was inspired by the warm woolen mittens from the song My Favorite Things from The Sound Of Music.  I just love these a la mode girls and can't wait to get the newest two that were just released!  Anywho....the dp is Good Cheer from October Afternoon and I added some glitter to her hat and trendy boots!

More Christmas Tags......

Hi there!  Another week of bad blogging!  My mojo has taken a serious vacation, but I think it's traveling back my way!

I can't seem to kick this tag craze!  They are seriously so fun to make!  I wanted to make a few more Christmas tags, so I broke out a new Taylored Expressions set, From The Heart, along with the From The Heart Frame Die and the Take Note Die 3.

The tag was cut with the Take Note Die 3 using Kraft cardstock.  I sponged the edges with Tea Dye Distress ink.  I then cut five layers from Girls Paperie Tinsel and Twig patterns with the From The Heart Frame Die.  I layered on top of that two circles (Pure Poppy and one more Tinsel and Twig pattern) that were cut with two different sized circle punches.  The darling Christmas tree is from the new set From The Heart.  It was stamped on one more pattern, was cut out and then popped up on foam tape.  The looped ribbon was inspired by these ornaments by the FABULOUS Amy Sheffer.  I just love the way she looped the ribbon through the jumbo eyelets!

Well, that's all from me today!  I'm hoping to get some crafty time in today because it's a cold and rainy day here in California!  Love it!  Whatever you do I hope it's a great day!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Nancy!!

This is my second post today.  To see Mercy's sketch just scroll down to the next post!  Thank you!

Hi there!!  Welcome to our Birthday Blog Hop for the amazing Nancy McKinney, the wildly talented illustrator of the Whimsical Wishes line at Taylored Expressions!!    If you came here from Jodi's blog then you're in the right place.  If you've just happened along then you can start the beginning of the hop at Karen's blog!

Of course for Nancy's birthday I just had to use one of the sets she illustrated.  It was tough, but I finally chose Beary Special.  I paired this darling bear with some new My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy...Tickled Pink papers.  I used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch, SSS93 for the layout.  The balloons were cut with the smallest balloon die from the Make A Wish Ballon Dies and were tied with some Divine Twine.  I rounded the left top corner of each layer with my Corner Chomper and then covered them up with the balloons!  The bear was colored with Copics and the belly and pads of his feet were paper pieced.  The birthday hat and sentiment are from Beary Special Accessories!

Nancy.....I hope you have a FANTASTIC birthday!!  You're AMAZING!

The next stop on this hop is Melissa's blog....

Happiness Is Homemade {MTSC100}

Hi there!!  I can't believe it's been a week since I last posted!  Well, my kids and hubby were off last Thursday and Friday, I had a bunch of stamping to do for the Dirty Dozen Gallery that was revealed today and spent the weekend hanging out with the family!  Good stuff!!

Well, it's Mercy's 100th sketch today!  And today's is FABULOUS, although I just realized while uploading the sketch that I placed the oval in the wrong place!!  I used my the What's Cookin'? a la Mode (looks like it's sold out right now) from MFT AGAIN!  I just love this image!  I combined today's sketch with the Wednesday Stamp Club challenge in the MFT forum, Cookin' Up Some Love.  The patterned paper is October Afternoon Modern Homemaker and I LOVE IT!  Fun colors and patterns.

Don't forget to check out what the other girls did with this week's sketch!

A+ Happy Birthday {MTSC99}

Hi there!!  It's Tuesday and it's time for another one of Mercy's sketches!!  Another great sketch this week, but I'll admit that my mojo has taken a vacation because I totally struggled with this card!!  I just couldn't make it work to my liking so I had to walk away.....hence the tardy post!  I finally sat down to finish it up and am still not 100% happy with it!   LOL

I needed another teacher birthday card so I pulled out my trusty Make The Grade and Extra Credit sets from Taylored Expressions.  I love the schoolhouse from this set.  It's fun to color and EASY to cut out!  I paired the stamps with some new October Afternoon Schoolhouse DP.  I could go on and on about how much I love October Afternoon, but I don't want to bore you!  These papers are awesome!  I only bought one pack and will definitely be picking up one or two more so I don't run out......

Anywho...I rounded all the corners with my Corner Chomper and layered the schoolhouse on a Nestability Lacey Circle.  Some stitching and buttons finish it off....

Don't forget to check out what the other girls did with this week's sketch!

Friendship Warms The Heart {MFTWSC11032010}

Hi there and Happy Friday!  After dinner last night while the girls were doing their homework, I sat down to make a card for this week's Wednesday Stamp Club over in the MFT forums on SCS, MFTWSC11032010.   It's a WONDERFUL sketch and I couldn't wait to play.  I pulled out my much loved but VERY neglected Pure Innocence stamps and chose this fun image called Merry Kissmas.  I paired it with some new Echo Park Wintertime DP.  This paper is gorgeous.....one of my fave combos of colors for the winter!

I did some paper piecing and coloring with Copics over different parts of the image.  I finished it with some Crystal Coarse Glitter by Martha Stewart.

The sentiment was cut out with a die from the Ribbon Tag Trio by Spellbinders.  Before removing it from the die, I sponged some Not Quite Navy ink to the center.  It is attached to the card with foam tape and some Divine Twine.  A patterned paper snowflake, button and more Divine Twine finish the card.

Well, that's all from me today!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  Thanks for stopping by...

Taylored Expressions Release Day!

Hi there!  It's Taylored Expressions Release Day!!  Everything you've seen this week from the Baker's Dozen is now available for purchase in the Taylored Expressions store!  But before you run over and start shopping, the Baker's Dozen is doing a round up of sorts to give you some more ideas and inspiration for all of the new sets and the coordinating dies that have been peeked this week!

I have another card using the new What's Cookin' set along with the coordinating Kitchen Accessories Dies

I used the teapot from What's Cookin'.  I stamped it once onto Choice Buttercream with Memento Black ink and cut it out with the coordinating teapot die.  I stamped it a second time onto October Afternoon Thrift Shop DP and paper pieced the pot.  The handle was colored with Copics.   I rounded two corners of the card with my Corner Chomper for some added interest.  Some ribbon and a sentiment tag finish it off.  The completed card is a 4 1/4" square.

Don't forget to see what the rest of the Baker's Dozen has cooked up for today!  Oh, and please give our special Guest Designer for November and December, Mona Pendleton,  a big welcome!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks ~ Day 3!

Hi there!  It's day three of the Taylored Expressions sneak peeks and today the Baker's Dozen will be sneaking peeks of an awesome new set called Enjoy.  Enjoy was concepted by Jami Sibley and illustrated for the Whimsical Wishes line by Nancy McKinney.  There is a large frame stamp in the set that coordinates with the small hinged tins that are available at Taylored Expressions.  There is also a coordinating die for the frame.  I can't wait to show you, so let's get started!

I pulled out some Cosmo Cricket Togetherness dp, a small hinged tin and got to work.  I stamped the coffee cup from Enjoy twice in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored them with Copics and cut them out.  I cut out the base piece (blue) of patterned paper with the Gift Card Frame Die and added a strip of a different pattern across the top.  I then cut another piece of Togetherness dp with the new From the Heart Frame die we previewed yesterday and layered one more pattern that was cut with a 1 3/4" circle punch on top.   I stamped "Enjoy" in Dark Chocolate ink and then stamped "This One's On Me" (one of five coordinating sentiments) underneath it and then made it into a sentiment flag.  The coffee cups are popped up on foam tape.

This is a picture of the inside of the tin.  I cut each piece of dp with the Gift Card Frame die and they fit perfectly!  I will be adding a Starbucks giftcard to the inside.

Just one more top view picture.....

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks ~ Day 2!

Hi there and welcome to day two of the Taylored Expressions sneak peeks!  Today the Baker's Dozen will be showing you sneak peeks of From the Heart, From the Heart Funnies and the coordinating From the Heart Frame die.  They were designed by Taylor for the TE line and are perfect for all of your homemade/handmade gift tags this gift giving season and beyond!

Remember, everything you see this week during sneak peeks will be available for purchase in the TE store this Thursday, November 4th at 8:00 am PST.

I went fairly simple (for me) with a card and coordinating gift bag that houses some homemade Peanut Butter Cookies that my girls and I made the other day.  (I'm not sure how many made it into the bag....YUMMY)  I used the October Afternoon Seaside dp that I used on my project yesterday.  I cut out a tag with the From the Heart Frame die using some scraps of dp.  I then stamped the circular "From My Kitchen" stamp in brown ink onto Kraft cs and punched out with a 1 3/4" circle punch.  It was then layered on a Choice Buttercream circle Nestability.  The heart was stamped in Yellow Ochre Fluid Chalk Ink and was cut out and popped up for dimension.  Some rounded corners with the Corner Chomper and Chocolate Farmers Market Twine finish the card.

I used the same tag on the bag and behind it I stamped "Lovin' From My Oven" from From the Heart Funnies repeatedly with my Stamp-a-ma-jig.  It was then finished off with the same twine.  The bag is from my stash.

Don't forget to see what the rest of the Baker's Dozen has cooked up for today!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day One!

Hi there and welcome to day one of the Taylored Expressions sneak peeks!  The Baker's Dozen has so much in store for you this week.  You won't want to miss a thing!  All of the stamps you see this week will be released on Thursday, November 4th at 8:00 am PST in the Taylored Expressions store!

Today the Baker's Dozen has sneak peeks for you using the new and ADORABLE set, What's Cookin', along with the Apron Pocket Dies and/or the Kitchen Accessories Dies.  You're going to love all of the fabulous peeks.......so let's get to it!

I used the darling Apron from What's Cookin' along with the Apron Pocket die set.  The Apron was stamped on Choice Snow White using Memento Tuxedo Black and was cut out with the new Apron die.  The apron was stamped a second time on two patterns of October Afternoon Seaside DP and was paper pieced.  The apron was layered on Classic Circle and Lacey Circle Nestabilities.  I rounded the two top corners of the background layer with my Corner Chomper.  The sentiment was stamped using the masking technique so I could separate each word into a sentiment flag.  Two buttons and some satin ribbon finish it off.

Don't forget to see what the rest of the Baker's Dozen has cooked up for today!
