Mixed Media MFTeasers Day 7!

Hi there and welcome to the final day of teasers from My Favorite Things! This week's teasers have been amazing! Make sure you head over to the MFT Blog to find out all of today's details and to find out how you can win big!

I have a card to share today that I made for my sister-in-law, Nancy. My hubby's family loves getting my cards. In fact, I got a lot of grief from my brother-in-law, Jeff, for not making his birthday card back in May. That won't ever happen again! HA!

Back to Nancy's card....I took inspiration from this gorgeous card by Jody Morrow. I LOVE how she painted the roses. I started by stamping one of the sentiments from Birthday Greetings on a Pierced Circle STAX Die-namics die. I stamped the checkerboard from Distressed Background Blocks in Bubblegum ink and then painted over the entire circle with gesso to tone it down.

I cut the roses from Bubblegum Card Stock using the Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose Die-namics. I painted them with gesso and then with Rock Candy Distress Paint. The Leaf-Filled Flourish was cut from Kraft Card Stock and was painted with gesso in random spots.

I randomly stamped the checkerboard stamp from Distressed Background Basics in Bubblegum ink and then covered most of it up with gesso. LOL. I used the Delicate Doily Stencil and some modeling paste for the background. When that was dry I misted the entire background layer with a mixture of MIX-ables Sheer Shimmer Mist and Bubblegum ink refill. It's super shiny in real life :)

You will find links to all the products I used on my card below.

Thank you for stopping by!
