MFT Scrap Sketch #3!

Hi there!  It's MFT Scrap Sketch time and this month we have two awesome scrap sketches for you to play with!  I used the traditional sketch (vs. Project Life sketch) and finished a couple more pages in my December Memories Album.

Head on over to the MFT Blog for a link to each designer.

I did a two page layout for my December Memories Album.  The pages are approximately 6 3/8" x 8 1/2".  All of the patterned papers are Echo Park This & That Christmas.  The base layer is Kraft cardstock.

Last weekend my family had an early Christmas dinner at my Mom and Dad's house because we are all going in different directions on Christmas.  There were no presents involved, just time to eat and be together.  My cousin's girls LOVE my girls (and vice versa) and all four of them happily sat together so I could snap a few photos with my phone.

Here is the full two page layout.  The scrap sketch for this month is the page on the left.

Here is Scrap Sketch 3 all on its own.  I used Laina Lamb's two new sets, Document It: Captured Memories and Journal It: Graph Paper Notes.  The journaling card is stamped with the Graph Paper stamp.  The Die-namics I used are High Rise Uppercase Alphabet and High Rise Lowercase Alpha for the glitter letters, Mini Tab Foursome for the "my fave" on the side of the picture and Fishtail Flags STAX.

Here is a less blurry photo of the left page. (it was a very grey day here).  The journaling was done on my computer.

Here is a close up of the right page.  I just love these stamps from Document It: Captured Memories.  They are so fun.  The Die-namics I used here are Circle STAX and Sentiment Strips.

I printed the girls' name on the computer, then stamped them with the Graph Paper stamp from Journal It: Graph Paper Notes and cut them out with the Mini Wavy Pennants.

MFT December Creative Challenge ~ Background Building

Hi there!  I'm back with the December Creative Challenge from My Favorite Things.  This month's challenge is called Background Building.  The goal is to build a background using any MFT stamps and dies, no patterned paper!

I love all of the new backgrounds stamp sets that MFT has released over the last few months, especially Darling Dots from Lisa Johnson Designs, specifically the large dotted background.  I knew I would use this particular stamp on my project, as this set just sits on my desk within hand's reach :)

I started with some Instagram pics I had printed that were taken on Mother's Day earlier this year.  I LOVE these pics of me and my girls and knew I had to get them on a scrapbook page.

The title was a combination of fonts using my Silhouette and the Die-namics High Rise Uppercase Alphabet.  The ampersand is layered on a Pink Lemonade Circle STAX.  I added some machine stitching through each word to make it stand out a little more.

I used Die-namics Lead the Way for the vellum arrow pointing to the bottom picture.  Some more vellum was used for the Decorative Doily.  Layered on top of the doily is a Hearts A Plenty heart cut from corrugated cardstock and a Plentiful Petals flower that was first stamped with the graph stamp from Journal It: Graph Paper Notes and finished with a Pink Lemonade button and some Hemp Cord.

Here's another Plentiful Petals flower, again stamped with the Journal It: Graph Paper Notes graph stamp and finished with a Pink Lemonade button and Hemp Cord.  It's layered on another vellum Lead the Way arrow.

Another flower on the left side of the page (rule of thirds!).

And another Lead the Way arrow cut from vellum.

Hi there and happy weekend!  It's Sweet Sunday Sketch time again and Karen has a fabby sketch for us this week!  If you play along, make sure you link your card on Karen's blog for a chance to be a guest stamper with the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team!

Speaking of guest designers, please give a warm welcome to this week's guest, Danielle Lounds!  Welcome, Danielle!!!

I flipped the sketch this week to accomodate my image.  The Pure Innocence Bear Hugs is a new image from My Favorite Things.  She is SO cute!  She was stamped on Xpress It cardstock and colored with Copics.  I used the following Die-namics on my card:  Rectangle STAX, Mini Tab Foursome, Dainty Dots Border and Layered Rose.  I've also used Kraft cardstock, Kraft Buttons and Hemp Cord.  The patterned paper is MME The Sweetest Thing "Lavender" 6x6.

My project tonight is a scrapbook layout that I made for my December Memories Album I posted here.  After putting up our tree the other day I had a little photo shoot with my girls and my puppy, Stella.  I Instagrammed them using the Early Bird filter (my fave) and printed the pics in different sizes on my photo printer.

I used the new Laina Lamb set, Document It: Captured Memories and my fave background set, Darling Dots and the following Die-namics:  Insert It: Instaframe, Accent It: Flags and Tags, Sentiment Strips, File Tab, Fishtail Flags STAX, Lead the Way (arrow), High Rise Uppercase Alphabet, High Rise Lowercase Alpha, Say What (chat bubble) and Rounded Banner STAX.  All of the patterned papers are Echo Park This & That Christmas.

Warning:  This is a mighty long post!  Enjoy!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are both pages.  They each measure 6 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches.  The base is Kraft cardstock.

Photo was cut out using my Silhouette machine.  I love the white dots on the Kraft.  December is from Journal It: Calendar Basics and was stamped on vellum.

The pics look a little washed out here, but they are not washed out in real life :)  Isn't my dog cute?  LOL

Another detail shot.  Love that there are so many different shaped sentiments in Document It: Captured Memories.

The second page:

This is the top of the second page.

Again, these photos look washed out, but not so IRL!

One more close up of the Insert It: Instaframe Die-namics.  L.O.V.E. this new die!!!  It's a MUST HAVE!
