MFT February Creative Challenge

Hi there and welcome to the February Creative Challenge from My Favorite Things!  This month the design team was challenged to make a clean and simple card or project.  This was quite a challenge but I mustered through!  LOL

Head on over to the MFT blog for a link to each participating designer.

I have two cards to show you today so I'll get right to it.

The first card uses the following stamp sets Say What Sentiments and LLD Journal It - Graph Paper Notes and the Die-namics Large Hybrid Heirloom Rose and Large Leaf-Filled Flourish.  Cardstock is Sweet Tooth, Bubblegum, and Gumdrop Green.  I stamped the Graph Paper in Versamark ink onto the rose before assembling.  It's subtle but adds some interest.  "Hi" was stamped in Black Licorice ink (please ignore the smudge :)

Here's a close up of the beautiful rose.

Here's the finished inside.  The sentiment is from Say What.

For the second card I used Lovey-Dovey Sentiments and LJD Hearts and Stitches.  I stamped the sentiment first in Razzle Berry ink and then a second time in Sno Cone ink.  It was fussy cut out and popped up for dimension on an Oval STAX set 1 and and Oval STAX set 2.  I cut just "my world" from the Sno Cone sentiment and popped it up for dimension.  I cut a Fishtail Flags STAX from Sweet Tooth cardstock and stamped the hearts from LJD Hearts and Stitches in Sno Cone ink.  I matted it on a Fishtail Flags Layers STAX cut from Razzle Berry ink.  The card base is Sno Cone cardstock.

Wishing You Happiness {SSSC178}

Hi there!  It's time, once again, for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch!  LOVED this week's sketch!  Hope you get a chance to play along.

I ended up flipping the sketch to the other side to accomodate the beautiful rose I wanted to use.  I started with a Kraft base.  I chose a piece of patterned paper from the MME Bramble Rose 6x6 pad and used a Circle STAX to cut a circle from the patterned paper.  I adhered the patterned paper to Sweet Tooth cardstock and then stamped my Flower in Primrose Petals ink.  I distressed the edges and then added some zig zag and regular stitching.  The sentiment was stamped on a Fishtail Flags STAX and was finished with a crinkled silk bow.

Here's the sketch:

Stella {MFTScrap5}

Hi there!  It's time for this month's Scrap Sketch from My Favorite Things!  The sketch we have for you this month is based off of this scrapbook page I made for the January Teasers.  It's a super fun sketch so I hope you get the chance to play along.

Head on over to the MFT blog for a link to each designer.

I've had these pictures of my dog, Stella, printed for quite some time and this sketch was the perfect opportunity to get them on a page.  We love Stella and couldn't imagine life without her.  She's very spoiled. :)

I used two different sets from MFT and quite a few Die-namics, so I'll just list them for you.  The stamps I used are Clearly Sentimental about Pets and LLD Document It - Off the Charts.  The Die-namics I used are Jumbo Banner Day STAX, Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX, Tradtitional Tags STAX, Fishtail Flags STAX, Circle STAX set 1, LLD Accent It - Labels and Tabs, Pet Charms, Dizzy Doily Duo (large), and Lead the Way.  The patterned papers are My Mind's Eye My Girl.  I also used the My Girl Decorative Tapes on the "Love This" tag and on the element at the top.

Sew Cute {MFTWSC110}

Hi there!  It's Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch Challenge time at MFT and this week we have another terrific sketch for you to play with!

Head on over to the MFT blog for a link to each participating designer.

I didn't get much stampy time during the latest MFT release because sickness hit our house with a vengeance.  First my girls, then me, then my oldest AGAIN.  Needless to say, stamping was put on the back burner!  But I'm back for now, unless the rest of us get hit!  HA!

I loved the new Pure Innocence images released this time around and decided to use the new Cute as a Button for my card today.  She was colored with Copics and her clothes were paper pieced.  She was fussy cut and popped up for dimension.  Underneath her is the Oval STAX set 1 and Oval STAX set 2.  I sponged some of the new Pink Lemonade ink onto the oval while it was still in the die. I used the individual buttons from the new Die-namics Button Border.  Each button was threaded with some Hemp Cord.  The patterned paper is Echo Park True Friend.

I stamped the image on the inside and added a Button Border (this is the other portion of the die) threaded with Hemp Cord.
