MFT has come up with a new monthly feature and we think it's something you'll really enjoy. The My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Chat is a new monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative spaces and share valuable organizational methods, tools, and shopping strategies with you. You'll be able to peek into our creative spaces, ask questions, and share your own ideas in the MFT forum. This month, we were asked the following questions:
~How do you store and organize your Die-namics?
~Any fun or helpful Die-namics purchasing strategies you'd like to share?
~How do you store extra Die-namics die-cuts?
My stamping space is anything but organized........except for my dies! I can honestly say that I have a die storage system in place that works for me!
I store my Die-namics in these binder boxes that I purchased at Taylored Expressions. I currently have two binder boxes full of die-namics (SWOON) plus a basket that houses all of my Doily Dies, the Pinwheel die and any of the larger Die-namics that take up too much room in the binder box.
You get a better idea of how these boxes look in this picture. The fronts were decorated with some black and pink cardstock. I printed the text on the pink cardstock using my printer. The flower is from Inspired By Flowers #2 by MFT.
Each box is clearly marked with the particular Die-namics dies it holds. This box houses all of my flower and embellishment type die-namics such as Rolled Rose, Fancy Flourish, Butterfly Trio, Rainbow, Cloud Trio, etc.....
The panel inserts were also purchased along with the binder boxes at Taylored Expressions. Each die is held in place with a couple strips of adhesive magnet that I cut to fit each panel. I purchased the adhesive magnet at Michael's. It comes as a roll and you just cut each strip to size. The magnets can be purchased as sheets also, but I felt the roll of magnet was a bit easier on my wallet!
Here is the basket I referred to earlier in the post. This sits within easy reach of my binder boxes. I originally had the larger Die-namics dies in my binders, but they took up too much room, so I opted for this instead. Works for me!
Here's a quick picture of my small die-cutting station! The Driscoll's box (which will be altered at some point) houses my Cuttlebug cutting plates. I usually make die-cuts as I need them, so I don't really have any sort of storage system for left over die-cuts. When I do decide to use something other than what I cut, say I decide I want a different color, then I store the die-cuts in a little plastic box that sits in the Driscoll's box on my shelf! Most of the time it's empty!
When I purcahse my Die-namics dies, I like to purchase a die that is coordinated to work with a stamped image that I own or am buying, that way I am guaranteed to use it! If a die comes in different sizes, such as the doily dies, then I purchase them a little at a time so it's not too hard on my budget. That way I end up with everything I want!
Well, that's all from me today! I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at my Die-namics storage system!!

Thanks for the peek into your die organizing, Jackie. I got magnetic sheets at the Dollar Store you may be able to find some there too :)
Cool system Jackie, I like that those boxes would keep the small dies contained.
Very nice system, Jackie. Nice and contained in a small area. I like it. :)
Awesome system, Jackie, so nice to see what everyone is doing with their dies!

I love all these ideas! And it's crazy how not one of us is really doing the same thing!
I really like those binder boxes! How perfect for your dies!
Love how nicely contained everything is, Jackie!
Great idea, Jackie. I've been storing my smaller dies that coordinate with a stamp set in a separate little bag attached to the same clip on my clip it up. I don't have a lot of dies, so this is working for me, for now. You keep posting all of these spectular projects using dies and my resistance (and wallet! lol) are weakening.
THS
Seriously, I NEED to be on this team! LOL -- you all have SO MANY dies -- I want them too! :)
Love those binder boxes Jackie! What a great solution. And your area looks so neat and tidy! Just fabulous!
Love your system Jackie! I had thought about using those binder boxes too! Maybe someday! LOL
